In addition to being a great aerobic/hill workout, this ride leads to one of the most spectacular vista points in the Arkansas Valley. From this lofty perch one will find panoramic views from Mt. Massive to the north all the way to the jagged summits of the Sangre de Cristo range south of Salida.

The heart of the route follows CR 375, otherwise know as Fourmile Road, from its start along the banks of the Arkansas River to the intersection with CR 377 at an elevation of approximately 9,200. Once on CR 377, the route climbs more than 500' in a little more than a mile to a ridge that separates the Fourmile Area from the flat plain of the Arkansas Valley. The last mile is a quick descent to an turnout that should be in everyone's photo album.

This is a popular area for jeeps, trucks and ATVs, so stay alert for motorized traffic as you bomb the downhill.
