Just like its western sibling, this is an epic climb. Unlike the Leadville side, however, almost all of the east side can be ridden by strong cyclists. But you must be mighty strong to pull it off and don't feel bad if you find yourself hopping off for a little pushing.
These high passes are more a test of meddle than great rides. As a result, they won't appeal to everyone. If you relish the challenge of a very difficult grind and you are determined to show all the jeepers and ATV riders that you are truly tough (and maybe a little crazy), then go for it.
